Junior Tennis
Playing Sessions
Playing sessions are a great way for less experienced juniors to get experience of singles and doubles in a relaxed non-competitive environment.
They are run from 10am - 12:00 noon by a fully qualified coach, who is there to guide you in the right direction.
The sessions are held every Saturday from the beginning of April to the end of October AND on Wednesday and Fridays in all school holidays April to October.
There is no need to pre-book. The cost is £2 per session.
Leagues
The junior leagues are open to all juniors under the age of 16 years. Players must be able to serve and know how to score. Under 10 players play in a separate Mini Tennis Green League.
The leagues are run monthly and played on an hourly basis at a time arranged by you and your opponent. They run all year round with a break in August.
Coaches encourage juniors to play in the leagues, as it is a great way for them to improve.
Juniors can enter the main adult winter singles league, but can't also play in the junior leagues. Juniors can also play in the adult Summer Doubles League. There is also a ratings Box League.
Holiday Camps
Tennis Camps and Activity Days can last anywhere from 1 - 5 days and are suitable for 8-16 year olds of any standard, from beginner to advanced. It is a fun-filled week incorporating full instruction from L.T.A. qualified coaches in all aspects of tennis.
THE PROGRAMME:
On each day a different aspect of the game, related to the standard of the group, is demonstrated, and then structured practice follows, leading to relevant games and competitions. To break the week up we take time out to play a wide range of sports and team based activities that help work on hand eye co-ordination, movement and physical conditioning essential for the game of tennis.
MINI CAMPS:
Mini camps are a fun introduction to the game for children aged 4-6 years. The mini camp is a mixture of hitting lots of balls combined with learning the physical skills of running, jumping, balance, co-ordination, throwing and catching, which will help children reach their full tennis potential.
